Square Deal Scarf

This scarf is a satisfying experience in every way: A unisex wardrobe staple that is reversible, to look great no matter how you wear it; an easy knit that still keeps you on your toes enough to be engaging; a generous wrap to warm your neck when the wind blows. Directions in both charted and written form allow you to choose your favorite way to settle in for a cozy stretch of comfort knitting.

This pattern is suitable for any knitter who can knit, purl, and keep track of rows. Both charted and written directions for the main pattern are included. It requires wet blocking after knitting. The pattern is 3 pages long and has been professionally tech edited and fully test knit to be clear and free of errors.

Sizes: One size, easily modified

Finished Measurements: 12 in/ 30.5 cm wide X 63 in/ 160 cm long when blocked.

Gauge: Finished gauge depends on how much you block out the finished scarf. Choose a needle size that gives you a gauge of 20 sts and 28 rows/ 4 in/ 10 cm over a stockinette stitch swatch.

What You Need:

– 10 1/2 oz/ 298 g, approximately 588 yds/ 538 meters of worsted weight yarn. Sample shown in Juniper Moon Farm “Moonshine” (40% alpaca, 40% wool, 20% silk; 197 yds/ 180 m per 3.52 oz/ 100 g); 3 skeins in color #35 “Jungle”.

– One set of straight needles in size required to obtain gauge. I used US #5/ 3.75mm. You may need a size or two above or below that.

– One set of straight needles in one US size smaller than gauge size needle.
