Go-to Gift Hat
This nubbly textured hat is the perfect hand-knit gift! The texture pattern traps warmth and is quick and easy to knit. With 5 sizes to choose from, you are prepared to knit for any and all gift recipients. Perfect for charity knitting as well. When knit in Plymouth Encore, your gift is machine washable but still has a bit of wool for added warmth. This is one gift that is sure to be worn and loved!
This pattern is appropriate for knitters who are comfortable working projects on a circular needle in the round and using dpns or any other small circumference circular method for the crown. The hat is worked from the bottom up. Pattern is 2 pages long and has been test knit and professionally tech edited to be clear and free of errors.
Sizes: Toddler (Child, Adult S) (Adult M, Adult L) to fit head sizes of approximately 19 (20, 21) (23, 24) in/ 48.5 (51, 53.5) (58.5, 61) cm with approximately 2 in/5 cm negative ease.

Finished Measurements:
Circumference: 16 3/4 (18, 19 1/4) (20 1/2, 21 1/2) in/ 42.5 (45.5, 49) (52, 54.5) cm.
Height : 7 (7 1/2, 8 1/4) (8 3/4, 9) in/ 18 (19, 21) (22, 23) cm.
Gauge:
20 sts and 34 rnds in 4 in/ 10 cm over stitch pattern in the rnd.
What You Need:
- Plymouth Encore Worsted Weight yarn,(75% Acrylic, 25% wool; 200 yds/ 182 m per 3.5 oz/ 100 g skein); 1 (1, 1) (1, 1) skein, shown in color #0658 “Bluebell” OR 100 (114, 143) (157, 171) yds/ 92 (105, 131) (144, 157) m of a similar weight yarn. Note that Plymouth Encore is on the slightly heavier end of worsted weight yarns.
- One 16 in/ 40cm circular needle and one set of dpns (or type of needle for your preferred small circumference knitting) in size required to obtain gauge. I used US #5/ 3.75 mm. You may need a size or two above or below that.
