Shadow Box Socks

Here is a fun and different stranded sock pattern. The overall design is easy to work with no long floats and quick to memorize. A larger diamond grows organically from the background on just the outer side of the legs. The toes are shaped separately to fit right and left foot in a more natural way. (And that side diamond helps you get them on the correct foot!) The unusual gusset treatment lets the design wrap around the sides of your foot without a break, and adds a little surprise when you put your feet up. Unlike most color work sock patterns this has directions in two sizes with two size charts – a bit easier to get a pair to fit anyone. (Intermediate sizes can always be obtained by playing with gauge.) A striking sock for women or men.

Pattern is appropriate for an experienced knitter familiar with knitting stranded color work socks. Color pattern is charted only. Socks are worked from the cuff down. Directions are given for dpns. If using magic loop technique, use markers to designate corresponding needles. The socks are designed with negative ease, so be sure your stranded knitting is loose enough to stretch easily. Pattern has been test knit and professionally tech edited to be clear and free of errors. There are 5 pages, including charts, with each size having its own page of charts.
